We know that civil legal representation can help keep Coloradans housed, fed, and safe. Colorado Legal Services is a nonprofit that offers free legal help on issues that are not criminal to low-income Coloradans who qualify.

CLS is led by a board of directors that includes attorneys, people eligible to be represented by CLS, and members of organizations that also serve low-income Coloradans.

Who Qualifies for Help?
You may qualify for free civil legal aid if you meet certain income and other requirements based on federal poverty guidelines, or if you are 60 years old or older. Please reach out or apply for help to learn more.

It is easy to get started and talk to a team member about the issue you are facing. You can choose one of two options to get started:
Once we hear from you, a member of our team will reach back out to you about your eligibility for our services and any resources available. All applicants must complete an intake process.

We represent Coloradans statewide on civil court issues, which does not include criminal or traffic matters. This includes issues with housing, public benefits, identification documents, and economic challenges.

Volunteer
Colorado Legal Services has many volunteers and interns who contribute a wide range of knowledge and experience. Many are retirees, students, attorneys, or others who have an interest in law or are simply committed to helping in the community.
Give
The Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado raises money for Colorado Legal Services, the only nonprofit in the state that provides free legal services in civil cases to clients who could not otherwise afford them in every Colorado county.
For every client served by CLS, at least one income-eligible person is turned away. With your support, CLS is working to meet a constantly expanding need and help ensure justice for all is more than just a promise.
